WILLIAM TOWNE
Born 18 March 1598/99 in Great Norwich, Yarmouth, England
Died 24 June 1673 in Topsfield, Essex Co., Mass.
Son of John Towne and Elizabeth Clarke

William Towne married Joanna Blessing in St. Nicholas Parish Church, April 25, 1620, removed to Topsfield in 1652; died in 1673; she survied him; children:  1. Rebecca bapt. Feb. 21, 1673, marriedFrancis Nurse, 2. John bapt. Feb 16, 1623/24,died without issue, 3. Susanna bapt. Oct. 20, 1625, died without issure, 4. Edmund bapt. June 28, 1628, came to America, at age of  9, as an apprentice to Henry Skerry of Salem on the ship ROSE, which sailed from Great Yarmouth in 1637; lived in Topsfield, married Mary Browning, died in 1678, she died 1717, had children, 5. Jacob bapt. March 11, 1632, husbandman, married Catherine Symonds June 26, 1657, died Nov 27, 1704, had children, 6. Mary bapt Aug 24, 1634, married Isaac Estey, m. Sarah, bapt Sept 3, 1648, lived in Topsfield, married Phebe Perkins, died in 1713, she was his widow in 1715.
